A beautiful day in the mountains
A hundred-year-old log cabin tucked into the canyon, evergreens at the windows and fresh snow on the ground. An intimate gathering of the people we love, all in one warm room.
Built in 1920 as an anniversary gift — a love letter in timber, with logs hauled four miles up Millcreek Canyon by horse-drawn wagon and raised at the foot of the cliffs and waterfalls. A century on, it's one of Utah's most-loved romantic places: warm fires, lantern light, and the hush of the Wasatch, just twenty minutes from the city.
Dress: Winter Mountain Elegant — formal, black tie optional. Burgundy and sage accents welcome; bring a warm layer for the mountain December.

The drive. Log Haven sits about four miles up Millcreek Canyon, roughly twenty minutes from downtown. From I-215, take the 3900 South exit, head left onto Wasatch Boulevard, then turn right at the 3800 South light into the canyon. In December, give yourself extra time and watch for snow and ice — and carpooling is your friend.
Parking. Valet is available at the door, with the lot just across the way by the waterfall. Every guest also gets a complimentary canyon exit voucher on the way out.
Getting home. At the end of the night, a few shuttles will run from Log Haven back to the after party at our house and to a designated parking lot — we'll share the details closer to the day. Cell service is spotty in the canyon, so Uber and Lyft can be unreliable; if you'd rather ride up, line that up before you head out.
Weather. Mountain December — think low 30s°F and possible snow. Layers under the formalwear, and shoes you can manage on a little ice.

The wedding is one night, but we're making a week of it. Come for as much as you can.
Coming in early?
Friends and family start arriving about ten days out, and we'll have dinners and events planned all through wedding week. If you're getting into town early and want to join, let us know — a note on your RSVP is perfect.
After party at the Marotta house
When Log Haven sends us off, the night keeps going at our place near Liberty Park: a mountain of Dave's Hot Chicken, Anna's stepdad's homemade wassail, and a fire going in the garden. Shuttles from Log Haven will get you there.
Stay as long as you like. We're spending the night at a hotel, so the house is open to anyone who wants to crash.
Sunday sauce
Andrew's sister Julie is making a big pot of Sunday sauce at the house, and the football games will be on. If you have time before you head out, drop by and hang — it's the best carby hangover cure we know.

Near Cottonwood
Hyatt Place, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Hampton Inn & Suites are about fifteen minutes from Log Haven. There's also a Hampton Inn near University/Foothill.
Bringing your skis? The four resorts in the Cottonwood Canyons are the closest to the city: Brighton and Solitude up Big Cottonwood, Alta and Snowbird up Little Cottonwood. Alta is skiers-only, and the canyon roads fill up fast on powder mornings, so go early.

Questions, answered
When should I arrive?
Plan to arrive at 5:00 PM — the ceremony begins at 5:30. That gives you time to park, settle in, and find your seat. Give yourself extra time for the canyon drive, especially if there's snow.
Is it indoors? Will it be warm?
Yes. The ceremony and reception are both inside the cabin, warmly lit and cozy by the fire. The snow stays where it belongs — outside the windows.
What should I wear?

Yes! Little ones are welcome — we just ask that you include them in your RSVP so we can plan for them.
Will there be a bar?
Yes — a full open bar all night, on us.
I have a dietary restriction. What should I do?
Let us know when you RSVP and we'll take care of it — the kitchen is happy to accommodate dietary needs and allergies.
Where should I stay?
If you're booking an Airbnb, look near us around Liberty Park. For a classic hotel stay, try the Grand America downtown. And if you'd like to be closest to the canyon, there are a few hotels near Cottonwood. More on where to stay.
Is there an after party?
Yes! From midnight on, we're heading back to the Marotta house for Dave's Hot Chicken, wassail, and a fire in the garden — shuttles will run there from Log Haven. And if you're still around Sunday, come by from 11 AM for Sunday sauce.
We're getting in early. Is anything going on?
Plenty. We'll have dinners and events planned all through wedding week. Let us know when you're arriving — a note on your RSVP works — and we'll loop you in.
Can I take photos?
We've got a photographer covering the day, so you can relax and be fully present. That said, feel free to snap your own pics too — we'd love to see the night through your eyes.

Honestly, having you with us in the mountains is everything we could ask for. If you'd like to give something anyway, we've set aside a few things we're building toward.
Gifts of any kind are welcome, and there will be a card table at Log Haven for anyone who'd rather bring something along.
